To quote Wesley from The Princess Bride:

There are those who would say this is too cynical, but to do so would risk a blog post of lengthy quotes from Eric Wilson's book Against Happiness and we wouldn't want that, now, would we.

But in Farm Boy's defense, his cynicism was the result of a misconception of betrayal. Within 20 minutes of this "sermon," Farmboy had gotten over his cynicism, and he was again preaching True Love conquers all! (Preach that!) ;-)
Even optimists have off days.
